Officially certified: MAB is "Sandvik Lighthouse Factory"

Weiden/Stockholm. The partnership is official: MAB GmbH from Weiden (Bavaria) is the first manufacturing company outside of Sweden to be allowed to call itself a "Sandvik Lighthouse Factory". This is how the Swedish industrial group designates partner companies that are special role models in terms of digitalization. A great honor for the contract manufacturer from the Upper Palatinate.

Connections from Weiden to the Swedish capital Stockholm have already existed since 2021. The digitization professionals at Sandvik became aware of MAB through its sister company up2parts GmbH.

Discussions resulted in a development partnership at eye level, which has now culminated in the official designation as a "Lighthouse Factory". Through this cooperation, MAB GmbH benefits from the enormous digitalization know-how of the Swedish industrial giant. The company in turn gains a modern test environment for its innovative solutions and a future-oriented sparring partner for the numerous challenges facing SMEs in the manufacturing industry. Digital process thinking has been one of the main principles of the company's philosophy since its foundation. Thus, MAB was predestined for the new role.

The partnership was now officially confirmed during a visit to Stockholm in October. The program of the trip also included a visit to the only "Sandvik Lighthouse Factory" to date at Fårbo Mekaniska AB in Fagersta. A lively German-Swedish exchange of experience is also planned between the two Lighthouse Factories.
